  • May 28, 2014 - Dr. Spitzer served as a visiting professor at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts.  

Dr. Spitzer gave a grand rounds lecture to the faculty on the subject of "Cervical Cancer Screening:  Is it Still Part of the Annual Visit?"  He then spent time mentoring the residents on issues relating to colposcopy and the management of abnormal Pap tests.  

  • May 16-18, 2014 – Dr. Spitzer lectures at the Survival Skills for Today's Gynecologist Meeting in New York City, NY

Dr. Spitzer was an invited speaker. He spoke on several topics including: Cervical Cancer Screening, Pap Smear Management Guidelines, Answers to Common Patient Questions About HPV and  Vulvar Itching and Burning: Beyond Candida and BV.  His talks were very well received by the approximately 150 physicians who attended.

  • April 9, 2014 – Dr. Spitzer lectures at the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Biennial Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona

Dr. Spitzer was an invited speaker at the Biennial Meeting of the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology in Scottsdale, Arizona. He spoke on the subject of LEEP.  This talk was very well received.

  • March 26, 2014 - Dr. Spitzer served as a visiting professor at the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware.  

Dr. Spitzer gave a grand rounds lecture to the faculty on the subject of the Differential Diagnosis of Vulvovaginal Itching, Burning & Pain.  He then spent time mentoring the residents on issues relating to colposcopy and the management of abnormal Pap tests. 

  • December 12-14, 2013 - Dr. Spitzer is The Course Director for the ACOG's continuing medical education course entitled update in cervical diseases held at the Illinois/Intercontinental Chicago Hotel

Dr. Spitzer lead a Distinguished faculty that included Dr. Tere Darragh, Dr. Barbara Apgar (coeditor, along with Dr. Spitzer of Colposcopy: Principles and Practice - An Integrated Textbook and Atlas), and Dr. Kevin Reynolds. The course was very well received by the approximately 100 Gynecologists who attended.

 

  • October 9, 2013 – Dr. Spitzer lectures at the North American Menopause Society in Dallas, Texas

 

On October 9, 2013 Dr. Spitzer was an invited speaker at the Annual Meeting of the North American Menopause Society in Dallas Texas. He spoke on the differential diagnosis of vulvovaginal itching, burning and pain. The talk addressed causes of  vulvovaginal itching, burning and pain in menopausal women other than yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis and vaginal atrophy. Following the talk, there was a question-and-answer period at which Dr. Spitzer answered questions from a very interested audience of hundreds of physicians and other healthcare professionals. The following day, Dr. Spitzer spoke at a "meet the experts" breakfast. The topic of that talk was " Is There a Role for Cervical Cancer Screening in the Older Woman?" and it focused on the 2012 American Cancer Society guideline recommendations on cervical cancer screening in women over the age of 65. Dr. Spitzer is a co-author of these guidelines.  This talk was also very well received.

 

  • May 5, 2013 – Dr. Spitzer lectures in Ecuador, South America

 

    May 2-4, 2013 Dr. Spitzer served as a visiting professor and invited faculty on an International Course on the Evaluation and Management of Cervical Disease in Quito, Ecuador, South America.  Sharing the podium with him was 2008 Nobel Prize winning HPV researcher professor HaraldzurHausen, ASCCP president Dr. Tere Darragh, Dr. Barbara Apgar (coeditor, along with Dr. Spitzer of Colposcopy: Principles and Practice - An Integrated Textbook and Atlas), and Dr. Kevin Reynolds.  The course was extremely successful with almost 400 Physicians and healthcare professionals participate in (twice what was expected).  The Health Ministry of Ecuador and the media attended the meeting and faculty had an opportunity to make significant contributions to the education of healthcare providers and Ministry is responsible for public health policy.
