Desquamative Inflammatory Vaginitis (DIV)


Desquamative inflammatory vaginitis (DIV) is an uncommon cause of persistent vaginitis. The symptoms of DIV may include a significant vaginal discharge that may develop suddenly or be present for many years for years with irritation of the vulva and vagina and painful intercourse. DIV can occur in adult women of any age. The inflammation may cause the vaginal wall to peel or shed, called desquamation.
