Q. What does it mean when my Pap test says Atypical Squamous Cells: Cannot Exclude High-Grade SIL (ASC-H)?
A. ASC-H is an uncommon Pap test abnormality and is found in about 0.5% of all Pap tests. The number of women with ASC-H Pap tests who have a true precancer varies. Women with ASC-H should all have a colposcopy but should not be treated unless a true precancer is found on biopsy.
