Cervical intraepithelial
neoplasia (CIN)

Does CIN-3 (severe dysplasia, carcinoma-in-situ) need to be treated?

CIN-3 (severe dysplasia) is a precancerous condition that must be treated. Treatment is necessary even in young women who have never had any children. Despite the increased risk of premature labor in future pregnancies, the risk of cancer is too great to follow CIN-3 (severe dysplasia) without treatment.
