Are there any long-term consequences to erosive lichen planus?

When you erosive lichen planus has been present for a long time, the vulva can become scarred. The scarring may cause you to lose the inner lips (labia minora) and the clitoris may become buried under scar tissue. The scarring may cause the opening of the vagina to become narrow.
