Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine

I am pregnant or nursing. Can I be vaccinated? Is the vaccine harmful to my baby?

Studies have shown that HPV vaccine is not associated with any harm to the baby. However, out of an abundance of caution, pregnant women should not be vaccinated. It is not necessary to do a pregnancy test before being vaccinated. If you were vaccinated and found out that you were pregnant, don't worry. It is not necessary to terminate the pregnancy or do any special testing. However, you should delay any further doses until the pregnancy is over. Women who are nursing can be vaccinated.
