Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Vaccine

Is it possible to get HPV from the vaccine?

No. The HPV vaccine does not have any HPV in it. HPV is made up of the genetic material that causes disease and an envelope that delivers the virus. The vaccine uses artificially created particles that are similar to an empty HPV envelope to stimulate the body to develop an immune response that will prevent future infections. Since of the genetic material that causes HPV infection is not found in the vaccine, it cannot cause infection.
