Human papilloma virus (HPV)

Once I have been treated for HPV, can my partner given back to me?

When HPV goes away, it is always because the person’s immune system overcame the virus. This is the same whether the person was treated for the HPV went away by itself. Once a person's immune system overcame the virus it will protect them against being reinfected by that same HPV type. In a monogamous relationship where one partner is infected, both partners have been exposed to the virus. If one partner’s infection went away, it is only because of their immune system overcame the HPV virus and they will not be reinfected even if their partner is still infected.
